What format is the course and materials?
The format of the course is fully online, and includes videos, written information, and downloadable worksheets.
Is this course appropriate for parents of toddlers and teenagers too?
Yes and no. The course material is specifically designed for parents of kids who are 3-12, and most of the examples relate to this age group. However, the theories and principals apply to children of all ages, and a lot of the content is also applicable to older and younger age groups.
How do I access the course?
Register via the Courses and Groups page. You will be emailed weekly with a link and password to each module. The modules are all hosted within the Healthy Mind Centre Launceston website.
How long can I access the course content for?
Forever! As an added bonus, you will also get forever access to any new revisions or bonus material that is created after you sign up.
Is there any extra support offered during and after the course?
Yes! We recognise that just learning content sometimes isn’t enough - you might need help to implement it too! If you want specific questions about your situation answered by the course instructors, as well as opportunities to discuss the course content with other like-minded parents who are also completing the course, you can join our membership facebook group. This group is only available for people who are completing the course, for the cost of a cup of coffee ($4.99) per month. Further exclusive content will be offered in this group, including Q&A sessions and learning pieces. Why is it run online and not face to face?
By running the course online, we can make it available to parents who can’t get childcare, parents who want to sit down in the evenings and do the course with their partner, parent’s who can’t afford to see a psychologist directly, parents who are on a long waitlist for services, parents who have a health condition that stops them getting to a face-to-face group, and parents who live outside of the Launceston area.
Wait, I can do this with my partner? Do I have to pay extra?
Yes, you can do this course with your partner. In fact, it will be more effective if you are united in this parenting approach. No, it won’t cost you any extra.
How much does it cost then?
The 6-week course, including lifetime access to all materials and access to any revised or bonus content, costs AU$299.00. In comparison, one visit with a clinical psychologist at Healthy Mind Centre Launceston costs around $220 per 50-minute session, so we think it’s pretty good value really!
